Grischa Prömel (born January 9, 1995 in Stuttgart ) is a German soccer player . He is under contract with 1. FC Union Berlin .

Career

societies

Prömel began his career at TSV RSK Esslingen . After joining the youth team of the Stuttgarter Kickers, he went through their youth teams up to U-19. In 2013 he left Stuttgart to join the youth team at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . For the 2015/16 season, Prömel was to be introduced to the first team and took part in the training camp. However, it should not be used by professionals. On August 11, 2015, he moved to the second Bundesliga for Karlsruher SC , with TSG Hoffenheim securing a buyback option. He made his first appearance there on the 3rd match day of the 2015/16 season in a 2-1 away win against FSV Frankfurt in the unfamiliar position of right-back. On the 12th matchday of this season, Prömel scored his first professional goal with a long shot in a 2-0 home win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . As a result, Prömel came to his regular position in the central midfield for further missions.

After KSC was relegated to the third division, Prömel moved to 1. FC Union Berlin for the 2017/18 season . He made his debut for Union on August 20, 2017 (3rd matchday) in a 2-2 game against 1. FC Nürnberg , when he came on for Steven Skrzybski in the 80th minute and in added time because of a serious foul with the red card of the field was referred. After being suspended, he played regularly from the 8th matchday onwards and scored his first goal for Union Berlin with the 1-0 goal in the 3: 3 against SV Darmstadt 98 on November 24, 2017 (15th matchday). In the 2018/19 season Prömel was a regular in the central midfield of Berlin. He played 29 games in which he scored seven goals. He made a significant contribution to the first promotion to the Bundesliga . He made his debut in the top German division on August 18, 2019 (1st matchday) in a 4-0 defeat in the home game against RB Leipzig .

National team

Prömel was a German U20 national player . He made his debut for the U20 when he lost 2-1 to Italy on April 21, 2015, when he came on for Tobias Pachonik in the 70th minute of the game . At the U20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 , he played all games for the German national team. In October 2015 he won the Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup with the German U20 .

On July 15, 2016, he was appointed to the DFB squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . Here Prömel came on for the first time in the 10-0 win against Fiji , when he came on for Max Christiansen in the 67th minute of the game . He was also substituted on in the quarter-finals against Portugal , in the semi-finals against Nigeria and in the final against Brazil .

On November 1, 2016, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf together with the Olympic soccer team .

On September 2, 2016, Prömel made his debut for the German U21 team in the friendly against Slovakia and scored the goal to make it 1-0 in the 4th minute of the game.
