Happy (German: Glücklich ) is a song by the American singer Michael Jackson , which he recorded in 1973 for Motown . The single was included on Jackson's third studio album, Music & Me .

history

The full title (in German) of the song is Happy (Love Theme from Lady Sings the Blues) , although the song was never heard in the film Lady Sings the Blues and was not included on the film's soundtrack. The song was released as a single in Australia . On the B-side was the song In Our Small Way , which was already on the albums Got to Be There and Ben .

The song was not released as a single in the UK . But in 1983 the song was released as a promo to promote the compilation album 18 Greatest Hits , which included the song. The album was released by Motown and hit number 1 on the UK charts. Upon release, Happy reached number 52 on the UK charts. The single was later covered by the song composer Smokey Robinson and released on his studio album A Quiet Storm (Eng .: A Quiet Storm) .
