Ingruentium malorum is an encyclical of Pope Pius XII. in which he describes how to pray the rosary in times of need around 1950. He uses the publication date September 15, 1951 to indicate the month of October, the month of the Rosary.

Pius XII. puts the emphasis of his encyclical on the families who should pray the rosary in the community of the family. Especially in families, the unifying prayer in the Christian home will lead to communion with Mary , the Mother of God . The rosary should once again serve as a public prayer, because the opponents are confronted not with force and weapons, but with the help of God and this prayer. He expressly propagates non-violence and opposes violence with the prayer of the rosary. In this time of need, he speaks of prisoners and displaced persons, precisely this prayer, a helpful means to overcome violence.
