Jason Ulmer (born December 20, 1978 in Wilcox , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with EHC Linz in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League between 2013 and 2016 . Before that, he played in the German Ice Hockey League for many years . His brother Jeff is also a hockey player.
Career
Ulmer began his career in 1996 in the NCAA for the University of North Dakota team . Various positions in North American minor leagues , especially the AHL , and also in the Finnish SM-liiga followed, before the center switched to the DEL to the Kassel Huskies for the 2005/06 season. There the right-handed top scorer with 19 goals and 29 assists in 46 games and received the award for the best new import in the league, which is awarded annually by the magazine EishockeyNews . In the 2006/07 season , Ulmer was on the ice for the Hanover Scorpions , a year later he moved to the newly promoted DEL Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg . There he played until the end of the 2010/11 season , where he was German runner-up with the Grizzlies. From 2011 to 2013 Jason Ulmer played at EHC Munich .
From 2013 to 2016 he played for Linz in the EBEL and scored 58 goals and 102 assists in 177 appearances. In all three seasons he reached the play-off semi-finals with the Upper Austrians. He ended his career in April 2016.
