The Kia Titan was a 1971 first imagined pickup truck with four-wheel drive of Kia Motors . It was originally based on the Mazda Titan using badge engineering . The vehicle, which was only available as a flatbed , had a 5-speed manual transmission . As the Kia Boxer , the series was offered with a payload of 3.5-4.5 tons, while the Titan offered 1.5-2.5 tons of payload. The dump truck was marketed as the Kia Trade . In addition to the Kia SS 2.7L diesel engine , the Kia SL 3.5L and SH 3.6L diesel engines were also used over the years . In parallel to the further development of the Mazda Titan , the Kia Titan was also technically and optically changed. After the end of the cooperation with Mazda, the Titan and Boxer was discontinued in 1997, while the trade was produced until 1999. As a replacement for the commercial vehicles previously offered with Mazda , Kia developed a specially developed Kia Bongo (Bongo II) which replaced the Titan and Boxer in 1997, and in 1999 also replaced the trade as a tipper.
