The Ligue 1 2014/15 was the 77th season in the highest French football league of gentlemen. Paris Saint-Germain started the season as defending champion , the reigning cup winner was EA Guingamp . The FC Metz , RC Lens and SM Caen secured promotion to the top flight and replaced the three relegated FC Sochaux , Valenciennes FC and AC Ajaccio . The championship started on August 8, 2014 and ended on May 23, 2015.

A total of 20 teams took part in the championship, 17 of which played in Ligue 1 last season.
