List of the top scorer in the handball Bundesliga

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of top scorer in the handball Bundesliga includes all top scorer in the men's handball Bundesliga since the first single-track season 1977/78 . No data is available for the seasons of the two-track Bundesliga between 1966 and 1977. In the following the most successful players and clubs are named. The top scorer is the player who scores the most goals in a Bundesliga season. In the past 42 seasons, a total of 28 players have been the top scorer in the Bundesliga. An average of 227 goals were enough.

The most successful player is the South Korean Yoon Kyung-shin , who has been the top scorer a total of seven times. The second most successful player is Jerzy Klempel from Poland with three titles. The most successful club is VfL Gummersbach , which has been the top scorer twelve times. The top scorer in the Bundesliga and his team were also German champions only three times . Four times a top scorer was also German handball player of the year .

Since the single-track Bundesliga was founded, a different number of games have been played as a result of mode changes. From 1977 to 1992, 14 teams played 26 games this season. Between 1992 and 1994, in the 1999/2000 season and since 2001, 18 teams each played 34 season games. From 1994 to 1999 the 16 teams played 30 times each. In the 2000/01 season there was the most intensive game operation to date with 20 teams with 38 season games each. As a result of withdrawals by teams, 24 games per team were played in the 1982/83 season and 28 games per team in the 1997/98 season. In the 2019/20 season there were only either 26 or 27 games per team due to the premature end of the season. Goals from the play-offs and relegation rounds are not taken into account.
