Singapore participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul , South Korea , with a delegation of eight athletes (seven men and one woman) in 16 competitions in three sports. No medals could be won. The youngest athlete was the swimmer Desmond Koh (15 years and 125 days), the oldest athlete was the sailor Chan Joseph (39 years and 199 days). It was the country's ninth participation in the Summer Olympics . The standard bearer was Ang Peng Siong .
