Pierpaolo Cristofori (born January 4, 1956 in Rome ) is a former Italian pentathlete .

Career

Cristofori competed in three Olympic Games . In 1976 in Montreal he reached the 26th place in the individual, with the Italian team he was sixth . At the 1980 Games in Moscow , he improved to 17th place in the individual. Since he was the only starter from Italy, there was no participation in the team competition. In 1984 he finally achieved his best result in singles in Los Angeles with eleventh place. With the team, which in addition to Cristofori also included Daniele Masala and Carlo Massullo , he became Olympic champion .

At the world championships he achieved his only podium finish in 1982 with a third place in the team classification.

Cristofori is a police officer.
