Platinum was yesterday is the fourth collaboration album by German rappers Kollegah and Farid Bang . It was released on August 10, 2018 via the labels Banger Musik and Alpha Music Empire as a standard edition and deluxe box set , including the Nafri Trap EP Volume 1 and instrumentals .

The music producer Juh-Dee produced six songs from the regular album as well as all five songs from the Nafri Trap EP . The other productions come from Joznez , Gee Futuristic , Johnny Illstrument, Oster, Mesh, C-Wash, Ghanabeats, Jan van der Toorn and Nikki 3k.
Guest Posts
There are only two songs on the album, besides Kollegah and Farid Bang, other artists appear. The song Sturmmask auf (Gold was RMX yesterday) is a collaboration with rappers 18 Karat , Jigzaw , Summer Cem and King Khalil . The singer Musiye can be heard on In die Infendlichkeit .
Cover design
The album cover shows a black and white photo of Farid Bang and Kollegah, which was taken during their acceptance speech at the Echo Awards on April 12, 2018 in Berlin. There is no lettering on the cover.

Platinum was yesterday entered the German album charts at number 1 on August 17, 2018 and stayed in the top 100 for a total of nine weeks. It also reached the top of the charts in Austria and Switzerland. It was ranked 22nd in the German album charts for 2018.
On April 12, 2018, All Eyez on Us was released as the first single and reached number 39 in the German charts. The second release Sturmmaske auf (Gold was RMX yesterday) followed on May 4, 2018, whereby the original song Sturmmaske entered the charts again at number 12, as both sales were added together. On June 29, 2018, the third single Mitternacht 2 was released, which occupied position 19 in the German charts. The fourth release, In die Infendlichkeit , was released on August 9, 2018 and reached number 39 in Germany. In addition, the songs G-Modelle and Nuklearer Winter reached the German charts as a result of the album release via streaming .

Both rappers again showed their “favorite disciplines: dissecting with name dropping, inhuman mobbing and a portion of their very own humor, which now comes along more and more often without a wink. In general, this time it's a bit harder than before. "Kollegah and Farid Bang would use the album to present" their view of things "and to express themselves musically" on the accusations and incidents "that they made after the Echo Awards for Jung , brutal, handsome 3 had to take.
