Roberto Cifuentes Parada (born December 21, 1957 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean chess player .

Life

Roberto Cifuentes Parada is a chess journalist. In 1986 he published his first chess book on the middlegame together with Pedro Donoso Velasco. In 1990 he moved to the Netherlands, where he was the coach of the Dutch women's national team. He has lived in Huesca, Spain, since 2000 . There he is the trainer of the Club Jaque chess academy . He developed the website casinojaque.es and Chessypedia.

successes

He was able to win the Chilean championship five times: 1982–1986. He played for Chile and Spain in eight Chess Olympiads : 1978 to 1990 and 2004 (for Spain).

He played club chess in the Netherlands for Rotterdam and in Spain for CE Terrassa , later for Gros XT .

In 1984 he became International Master , since 1991 he has held the title of Grand Master . He has been a FIDE trainer since 2016.
