St. Lorenzen bei Scheifling was a municipality with 635 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the Murau district in Styria . As of January 1, 2015, it has merged with the Scheifling community as part of the structural reform of the community in Styria , the new community will continue to use the name “Scheifling”.

history
The political community of St. Lorenzen bei Scheifling was established in 1849/50. The cadastral municipality Feßnach was a separate municipality until 1875.
Culture and sights
- Schrattenberg Castle Ruins : The Schrattenberg Castle Ruins, whose predecessor buildings were built as early as the 12th century, are located in the municipality. The magnificent baroque complex was destroyed by fire in 1915. Outbuildings that were not affected by the fire were restored and are now used for cultural purposes.
Economy and Infrastructure
According to the 2001 census of workplaces, there are 18 workplaces with 145 employees in the municipality as well as 229 out-commuters and 147 in-commuters. There are 60 agricultural and forestry holdings (30 of which are the main occupation), which together cultivate 1,923 hectares (as of 1999).
