The Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Television Series - Comedy (Original Name: Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series ) is one of the awards given annually in the United States by the Screen Actors Guild , a union of actors , be awarded. It is aimed at actresses, the excellent performance in a major - or supporting role in a comedy television series have provided. The category was launched in 1995. The winners will be determined in a secret ballot by the full members of the union.
