Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010
The 16th US Screen Actors Guild Awards , presented by the Screen Actors Guild each year in film (6 categories) and television (9 categories), took place on January 23, 2010 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center . In contrast to the Golden Globe Award , for example, the so-called SAG Awards only honor film, television and ensemble actors and are a yardstick for the upcoming Oscar awards. The winners are chosen by the members of the Screen Actors Guild, which one must belong to to work as an actor in the United States .
The nominees were announced on December 17, 2009 at Los Angeles' Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater by actors Michelle Monaghan and Chris O'Donnell . In the United States, the ceremony was broadcast live on cable networks TNT and TBS .
American actress Betty White was honored for her life's work .
