- The 1910 European ice hockey championship held by the Ligue internationale de hockey sur glace, which was founded two years earlier, is the first official international ice hockey tournament for national teams. The EM tournament will take place from January 10th to 12th in Les Avants near Montreux in Switzerland. The venue is a frozen lake just outside the city. Great Britain becomes the first European champion .
- The Club des Patineurs de Paris wins the second Coupe de Chamonix in which only three teams take part.
