The 2014 Western & Southern Open was a tennis tournament held August 11-17, 2014 in Mason, Ohio near Cincinnati . It was part of the 2014 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. This season it was the seventh of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category . At the same time, the 2014 Women's Western & Southern Open took place in Cincinnati .

Defending champion in singles was the Spaniard Rafael Nadal , in doubles the pairing Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 56 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The eight top seeded players in singles or pairings in doubles each received a bye into the second round.

The qualification for the Western & Southern Open 2014 took place on August 9th and 10th, 2014. Seven qualifying places were played that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
