William H. Davidson

William H. Davidson was an American politician . Between 1836 and 1838 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Illinois .

Life

The dates of life of William Davidson have not survived. Nothing is known about his youth and school education as well as his career beyond politics. He lived at least temporarily in White County , Illinois. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party founded by Andrew Jackson . He also became a member of the Illinois Senate . In 1836 he was President of this Chamber of Parliament.

After the resignation of Lieutenant Governor Alexander Jenkins , Davidson succeeded him in accordance with the state constitution. He held this office between December 9, 1836 and December 7, 1838, however, only temporarily. He was Deputy Governor Joseph Duncan . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, his trail is lost.
