Samuel Martins Torres Santiago Mira (born July 17 1979), better known as Sam the Kid is the most known, successful and prominent Portuguese rapper and producer in Portugal.
Biography
STK's debut album, Entre(tanto) (1999) was considered by all a mark to Portuguese hip-hop culture.[1]
In 2001 Sobre(tudo) comes out. An album in which Sam the Kid shows a major improvement and musical maturation.[1]
In that same year (2001), he released an instrumental album entitled Beats Vol.1 - Amor. Using resources like vinyl, discs, soap-operas, videos and recorded phone calls among others, STK created a superb and unique audiophilic world, inspired by the love of his parents, to whom he dedicated the album.[1]
In 2005 he participated as an actor and music producer of O Crime do Padre Amaro.[1]
In December 2006 he released his new album Pratica(mente). It was a highly expected and anticipated, this new album features lots of Portuguese artists such as: Melo D, Cool Hipnoise, Lil John from Buraka Som Sistema, Kalaf, Valete, DJ Cruzfader, NBC, G.Q. and Carlos Bica. Pratica(mente) is the first STK's album recorded in a studio, all of his past works were recorded at home.[1]
