Jack Granatstein (1939-) is a renowned Canadian historian who specialized in political and military history. He received his BA from the Royal Military College of Canada, his MA from the University of Toronto and his PhD from Duke University. He taught at York University in Toronto between 1966 and 1996. He served for two years as the Director of the Canadian War Museum, Ottawa. He has been a passionate defender of traditional, narrative history.
