Hazen is a city in Mercer County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 2,457 at the 2000 census. Hazen was founded in 1913. Hazen has a K-12 school system.

Because of its proximity to Beulah, a town of similar size about 10 km (5 mi) away, Hazen is rarely mentioned by itself but rather as Hazen-Beulah. Hazen is also a great place to live it is located about a half an hour away from the largest lake in North Dakota. There are many attractions in Hazen such as Hazen Bay, Knife River Indian Village, National Fish Hatchery, and there brand new RV campsite

The racial makeup of the city was 97.07% White, 0.12% African American, 1.75% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.37% of the population.
