Li Yuchun (Chinese: 李宇春), born on 10 March, 1984, in Sichuan, People's Republic of China. On 26 August 2005, Li became the champion of Super Girl 2005, which is China's nationwide female singing competition organized by Hunan TV station.

During the competition, in which audience can participate in the decision by sending text messages with their mobile phones, Li received 3.5 millions votes, beating two other finalists Zhou Bichang and Zhang Liangying.

She was the cover of Time Magazine SPECIAL ISSUE: Asia's Heroes in the October issue in 2005.
