Varpas (lit. The Bell) was a Lithuanian-language newspaper published from 1889 to 1905. Owing to the Czarist ban on publication in Lithuanian, in was printed in Tilsit (current Sovetsk) and Ragnit (current Neman) and smuggled into Russian-dominated Lithuania by the knygnešiai, the book smugglers.

It was founded by the writer and poet Vincas Kudirka. One of his poems published in Varpas would become the Lithuanian national anthem (Tautiška giesmė).
