ooh, yeah, baby, bow down,
making me so wild now.

Tell me I'm your national anthem,
sugar, sugar, how now.

Take your body down town,
red, white, blue is in the sky.

Summer's in the air and,
baby, heaven's in your eyes,
I'm your national anthem. "

- Refrain, original excerpt

“Tell me I'm your national anthem,
oh yeah baby, take a bow,
make me so wild.

Tell me I'm your national anthem,
sugar doll, sugar doll like now.

Take your body between my legs,
red, white, blue is in the sky.

Summer is in the air and
baby the sky is in your eyes

I am your national anthem. "

- Refrain, translation

Reviews

The Süddeutsche Zeitung rated the piece negatively with the following description: “ National Anthem then finally answers the question that everyone has probably asked themselves: How does a femme fatale rap on Valium , and must you have heard it? The answer is simple: Not by Lana Del Rey, Princess Superstar would probably have saved the song - but before that, verses like Money is the reason we exist / everybody knows it it's a fact kiss, kiss deleted. Rap is an ungracious art. As a beginner, you can really only lose. "

Awards

National Anthem was nominated twice at the UK Music Video Awards but failed to win a prize. On January 14, 2015, Billboard (magazine) published a list of the 20 best music videos of the 2010s. Here was National Anthem chosen to position eight.
