Joaquim Gomes (born December 23, 1980 in Luanda) is a professional basketball player from Angola. He plays professionally for Eiffel Towers Den Bosch in the Netherlands and also played in Germany. He plays internationally for the Angola national basketball team. Listed at 6'9" (203 Cm), Gomes was a stand out in college at Valparaiso, for whom he played with from 2000-2004. He also competed for Angola in the 2004 Summer Olympics as well as the 2006 FIBA World Championship. He is the only one of the national team players not playing in Angola's national league.
