Lynn Marie Freyse (March 24, 1937 – March 3, 2015) was an American film and television actress. She is known for playing as Barbara Baxter in the final season of the American sitcom television series Hazel.
Life and career
Borden was born in Detroit, Michigan,[1] where she was later raised in Tucson, Arizona,[2] the daughter of Evelyn and Bill, a cartoonist.[1] She attended at University of Arizona, where Borden performed in theatre and studied in drama and psychology.[1] Borden graduated and earned her bachelor's degree, in 1958.[3][4] She was also a winner in the Miss Arizona pageant from 1957, where Borden was also a runner-up for the Miss America Pageant.[2][5]
Borden began her career in 1962, as appearing in the film Days of Wine and Roses, where she played the uncredited role of a "Party Guest".[6] Later in her career, she won the role of "Barbara Baxter", the attractive wife of Steve Baxter (Ray Fulmer) and mother of Susie Baxter (Julia Benjamin), in the final season of Hazel.[1][4] After the series ended in 1966, Borden later appeared in other films and television programs, as her credits includes, The Fugitive, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Get Smart, Fantasy Island, The Dick Van Dyke Show and Savannah Smiles. [2][4] She also starred and co-starred in films, such as, Frogs,[7] Black Mama White Mama, Walking Tall and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry.[2] Borden retired her career in 2006, last appearing in the police procedural television series CSI: NY.[2][5]
Personal life
Borden was first married to Chris Borden, in 1958.[8][9] They later divorced, in 1963. Borden then married Roger Brunelle[10] in 1982, til her death in 2015.[4]
Death
Borden died in March 2015 of an extended illness in Encino, California, at the age of 77.[2][5]
