Dayanara Torres (born October 28, 1974) is a Puerto Rican celebrity. She was chosen the 1993 Miss Universe in Mexico City.

Torres was born in Toa Alta.

Torres' winning the Miss Universe title caused some controversy because it was claimed she was still a minor. However, it is claimed that Torres turned 18 several months before the contest. In 1994 she went to Manila, Philippines to crown the new Miss Universe. After the pageant, she stayed in the Philippines where she became a well-known actress and singer. She was a live-in partner of Aga Muhlach who is now married to Charlene Gonzales (Miss Philippines-Universe 1994).

After returning to Puerto Rico, she met salsa singer Marc Anthony and married him in 2000, having two sons with him, Cristian and Ryan. In 2002, the couple announced a separation, but reconciled, renewing their vows in Puerto Rico in December of that year. In June 2004 the couple finally divorced. Less than a week later, Anthony married the actress and singer Jennifer Lopez.

On September 1 of the same year, she debuted in an American soap opera, playing a small role in The Young and the Restless. The soap's management was impressed enough to express their desire to have her in further episodes.
