It is currently in production and is being directed by P.J. Pesce.

Plot

  • "Lost Boys II: The Tribe" remains under tight wraps, but is rumored to center around Autumn Reeser's character moving to Trinity, California with her brother (played by Tad Hilgenbrink), where they find themselves involved with a gang of surfing vampires, led by Angus Sutherland's character in a role believed to echo that of "David" from the fist film. [1]
  • Corey Haim is reprising his role as Sam Emerson, whilst Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander will be returning as the vampire slaying "Frog Brothers," Edgar and Alan.[2]
  • Newcomer Greyston Holt, as Devin, finds himself up against the vampire horde as he fights to protect the object of his affection, Reeser.

Cast

Music

Gerard McMann, who recorded the song "Cry Little Sister" as theme of the first film, recently announced he has recorded several new songs for the sequel's soundtrack.[3] Whether or not Thomas Newman, the first film's music composer, will return to score the sequel is not known.

Production

  • Production on "Lost Boys II: The Tribe" began earlier this year and began filming in Vancouver, B.C. in August. Location shooting for the film is rumored to include Santa Cruz & San Diego, California as well as Vancouver, B.C. Canada.
  • In a recent interview with Fangoria (magazine), Tom Savini said the following in regards to his role in the film: "I'm one of the first vampires you see in the movie, I'm a surfer who runs into the vampires at the beginning of the film, in a sequence that is shot very Sergio Leone-style. They're shooting THE TRIBE in Vancouver right now, and I'll be there September 11." [4]
  • Origianlly slated for a direct-to-DVD release, it appears that momentum is gaining for a theatrical debut. According to Savini: "Originally it was going to be direct to video, but because of the success of their reality show, The Tribe is going to go theatrical." [5]
  • Lost Boys II: The Tribe is "like X Games meets Jackass," Says exec producer Mary Viola. "Today's vampires are adrenaline junkies."
  • In Entertainment Weekly Magazine, Corey Haim says of his return to the franchise 35 year old Haim says he's "super-stoked" about the sequel, which he describes as "dark and deep - think The Crow meets Point Break." And that's all he'll say. "I can't give any secrets! I've waited 20 years for this. I'm not gonna ruin anything for anybody, even myself."[6]
