Emilia (region)

Emilia is an Italian historical region which approximately corresponds to modern Emilia-Romagna region's western and north-eastern portion. It is limited by the Po River in the north, by the Apennines to the south, and the Adriatic to the east. The region's major cities include Ferrara, Bologna, Parma, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Piacenza.
