List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes
This is a list of episodes for the Nickelodeon animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The series premiered on February 21, 2005, and has aired through its second season. A third season, "Book 3: Fire," began airing on September 21, 2007. [1] Notable merchandise based on the series include nine DVD sets of episodes, six-inch scale action figures, a video game, stuffed animals distributed by Paramount Parks, and two Lego sets.[2]
The series classifies each season as a "book" and each episode as a "chapter." The list is ordered by release date which, with the exception of "Appa's Lost Days", also adheres to the show's continuity. For related media information, see Avatar: The Last Airbender media information.

Book One: Water
The first two chapters comprise the series premiere. The final two chapters comprise the season finale. The original pilot episode was never aired, but can be seen on the Complete Book 1 Collection's sixth disc.

Song, a young and compassionate healer, shows Zuko the effects of war from a normal citizen's perspective. | ||||

They sneak in and are caught by Fire Nation soldiers, but released when pox marks on Sokka create the illusion of an illness. While they are leaving, the Governor of Omashu's son, TomTom, accidentally leaves with the Earthbenders who are willing to trade him for King Bumi. | ||||

| This episode starts during the events of "The Library" and shows Appa's abduction and his various adventures over the next few weeks. These include performing in a Fire Nation circus, revisiting the former site of Wan Shi Tong's library, fleeing a startled farmer, and fighting with a porcupine boar. Suki and her fellow warriors from Kyoshi Island help him recover from his injuries, then the group is also attacked. He flees to the Eastern Air Temple, where a mysterious guru provides him with aid on his search. | ||||

Later, she sees Zuko and Iroh running their tea shop. | ||||

| When Aang has a vision that Katara is in danger, Aang, Sokka, and Toph all rush back to Ba Sing Se to save her. They meet up with Iroh, who asks their help in saving Zuko who had been captured as well. As Aang and Iroh journey to the prison where Zuko and Katara are held, Toph and Sokka go to save the Earth King, but are captured by Azula. Aang and Katara are fighting Azula when Zuko shows up and helps Azula. They are overwhealmed by Zuko, Azula and the Dai Li. Aang prepares to let go of Katara to save her. Aang meditates as he rises in cosmic energy but is struck by a lightning bolt and falls. The gang escapes Ba Sing Se and Katara revitalizes Aang using the water from the Spirit Oasis in the North Pole. Azula takes over Ba Sing Se, and the gang don't have the Earth Kingdom forces to fight the Fire Nation, they were on their own again. | ||||

Retail releases
Online downloads
Both Books are available through the iTunes Store, BitTorrent,[4] and Xbox Live Marketplace with new ones usually released one day after they premiere on Nickelodeon. It currently has "The Serpent's Pass" and "The Drill" combined into The Secret of the Fire Nation. The episodes "The Guru" and "The Crossroads of Destiny" are also combined. The third Book, "Fire", is also available online. However, it is known to exist online only through the iTunes Store.
Volume DVDs
Book One: Water
Book 1: Water, Volume 1, containing the first four episodes and the making-of special, was released on January 31, 2006 by Paramount Home Entertainment. The remaining episodes were also put into their own separate DVDs and sold seperatly for a total of five DVDs. The Complete Book 1 Collection was released September 18, 2006 and contains all episodes of Book One: Water on a six disc set with all-new special features on the sixth disc.[5]
