When the PSOne console was put on the market in Japan in 2000, Sony also released a series of games with it under the title of PSOne Books. These games were top selling popular titles that were made available again in a low-priced version under the PSOne Books label. These games did not come in jewel cases like other Playstation games, but instead only came in a slim type box, Like CD Maxi Singles. The games therefore did not feature a manual and usually only explained the basic controls on the back side of the front cover. The software contained on the discs was usually equal to the full retail game, however bug fixes were applied for a few titles. PSOne Book titles were still being released until late 2006.
