Edit Summary Request

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini hablame aqui 17:53, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No prob...but that is why I suggested you start using the edit summary field...so others know why you are doing what you are doing. --Kukini hablame aqui 17:56, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smallville

Wikipedia is not a current events encyclopedia. The original cast get preference over any "new comers". Wiki articles should not fall prey to recentism.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:37, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, do not remove major portions of the article, as you did with one of the characters, as it can be taken as vandalism if done repeatedly without discussion.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:39, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
They probably shouldn't. It's giving preference to those characters that came in later, instead of to those characters who founded the ideals of the show. Also, as I'm sure you're the IP that made the edit, please stop removing characters. Every character listed was/is, at one point, a regular cast member. You seem to keep wanting to delete Jensen Ackles's character "Jason".  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 17:42, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So, Pete left the show. It's noted in his character description that he left the show. Take a look at your edits, you removed--whether by accident or not--Jensen Ackles from the list completely. Regardless, just because they left the show it doesn't mean they aren't still the original cast. These other actors are coming in later. Wikipedia articles should reflect history, not current events. Historically, there were 8 main cast members, and there have been new ones that have come on and gone. If we followed a current events trend, you'd be swapping cast members out left and right with most shows.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 17:52, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Two people disagree with you, you don't have consensus to rearrange, and you have made 3 reverts to the article in less than 24 hours. You're treading close to disruptive behavior.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 17:57, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Articles shouldn't cater to the fans, but to everyone. It's a clear title that says "original cast" and "additional cast" and reading the descriptions it's clear who left the show and who didn't. By making it "current cast", you are saying that the people that were there for 6 years are less important than the ones that have been there for a single season. As for the current season, they'll get 15 episodes (7 more) and that will be the end of this season, unless the strike ends soon. As for it being the last, the ratings have been good and steady all seasons, if it continues I don't see why there wouldn't be an eighth season.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:02, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Smallville (TV Series). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia without explaining the reason for the removal in the edit summary. Unexplained removal of content does not appear constructive, and your edit has been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox for test edits. Thank you. It's always better to use the talk page for discussion before making wholesale changes that were obviously in place via consensus. Just giving you a heads up. Stay cool and don't let things escalate to edit warring. Cheers. Wisdom89 (talk) 19:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
