Pretty. Odd. is the second studio album by rock band Panic at the Disco, and it is to be released March 25 2008 on Fueled by Ramen.

Information

Panic at the Disco began to create their follow up to A Fever You Can't Sweat Out after being on tour for roughly two years, with no new material to perform. In January 2007 the band went into "hibernation" in a cabin, as they began writing new material for the next six months for a planned fall 2007 release. On July 7, 2007 they performed the song "It's True Love" live during their first performance since going into writing, later that night however the band decided that they didn't like the direction the music had gone and scrapped all the songs they had written (which was roughly about 3/4 an album, as they were almost done recording).

A month later Panic introduced two newly written songs, entitled "When the Day Met the Night", and "Nine in the Afternoon". In December, a part of "Nine in the Afternoon" was played on an episode of the television show Heroes. Panic then started displaying hype building puzzles on their official website. The first single from Pretty. Odd. was announced early on in the website's puzzle. For about two weeks the puzzle gave snippet's from an unknown song, along with the caption "YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY...". It was revealed on January 1, 2008 that the snippets were of a new song entitled "We're So Starving". A rough version of this song can now be heard at their official MySpace page. The band announced the title of the new album Pretty. Odd. through their website on January 9, then the next day they also announced they are headlining the Honda Civic Tour in support of Pretty. Odd.. Stating on January 17 Panic at the Disco's website began a new puzzle, one in which you had to search thoughout the internet in order to find the peices (some of which were added each day). On January 21 it was confirmed that all sixteen of the pieces had been found. The cover reads "WELCOME TO THE SOUND OF PRETTY ODD" in stylized lettering.[2] Later on in January 21, the website's jigsaw puzzle updated so when the fourth, and the last puzzle piece is clicked, the finished product can be seen. And when you click on the whole puzzle it self, the puzzle line will fade away, leaving only the clean version of the album cover left. It is worth noting that the corners of the picture on the right hand side have been rounded so to appear like a book, going with the possible "fairy tale theme" of the album. Also the source code was changed to say; "Oh, hello".

However, there has been speculation to whether the picture in the puzzle is actually the album cover or not. When the "Medicine Man" posted one of the pieces, the link was: "Isn’t it a shame when you find a piece to the wrong puzzle?", which suggests that, perhaps, the picture is something other than the cover art. More evidence to support this is the fact that the band's name does not appear on the picture. One suggestion of what the picture could be is a promotional poster and an other suggestion is that it is the cover for the Pretty. Odd. collector's set box.
