Fueled by ramen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fueled by Ramen LLC is an independent label that in 1996 in Gainesville was founded (Florida) by John Janick and Vinnie Fiorello.

history

The label was founded in 1996 when Vinnie Fiorello, drummer for Less Than Jake , and John Janick moved to Gainesville, Florida for school reasons. The two had already met a year earlier at a performance by Less Than Jake . They came to the conclusion that their talents in the music and contacts of other bands merged in Fueled by Ramen. Officially, the foundation can be set for August 1996, when the first sampler was published.

The name of the label refers to the eating habits of the entrepreneurs at the time. Fueled by Ramen can be translated as “powered by ramen”. In 2004 the label moved to Tampa, Florida. It now has 15 employees. Over 90 different albums, including Fall Out Boy and Paramore , have been released since it was founded .

At the end of 2006, Vinnie Fiorello left Fueled by Ramen because he no longer agreed with the musical development of the label.

In June 2018 the Warner Music Group announced that Fueled by Ramen would join a new label, the Elektra Music Group, among others.
