A Time to Love is a 2005 studio album by Stevie Wonder, his first since 1995's Conversation Peace. Originally to have been completed in 2004, it was finally released to stores on October 18, 2005, following an exclusive electronic release on Apple's iTunes Music Store on September 27. All release dates set in the first three quarters of 2005 were missed.

The first single, issued in April 2005, was "So What the Fuss", which featured Prince on guitar and En Vogue on backing vocals. Follow-up singles included "Positivity" with his daughter Aisha Morris, "From the Bottom of My Heart", and "Shelter in the Rain".

The three main songs on the album ("If Your Love Cannot Be Moved", "So What the Fuss" and the title song, "A Time To Love") appear to focus primarily on the importance of taking responsibility for our actions, rather than blaming others. For example, "So What The Fuss" states: "If I gotta get up early in the morning for a job interview and I forget to set the stupid alarm, shame on me".

Original proposed tracklisting

The track listing changed dramatically in the months leading up to the album's release. Wonder reportedly recorded "scores" of songs between Conversation Peace and A Time to Love. A track listing posted in spring 2005 on the artist's website only had 6 songs in common with the final listing above. The old list was as follows:

  2. "A Time to Love"
  3. "Forever Is How Long"
  4. "What the Fuss"
  5. "I Can't Imagine Love Without You"

  8. "Moon Blue"
  9. "The Future"
  10. "Giant Steps"
  11. "Sunshine"
  12. "Tears"
