Carlo Costly (born on July 17, 1982) is a Honduran footballer (striker) playing currently for GKS Bełchatów and a member of Honduras national football team. Prior to the transfer to Europe, he was with Club Deportivo Platense where he managed to be the top-scorer of Honduras Apertura 2006-07. He is also the son of national legend Anthony Costly.

Costly's life is linked closely to the country of Mexico. His parents separated and his mother, soon after, married a Mexican native. Costly moved to Mexico City when he was 14 years old. This is where Costly's carrer began, in the soccer fields of Mexico City. He had spells in the Mexican league with the 2nd division sister teams of Celaya, Morelia, Atlas and Pumas.[1]

When Constly turned 23, he no longer could play in this division because of age restrictions. He moved back to Honduras where the path to his internationally succeful career began. Costly does not forget Mexico, still owning a house in the region of Coyoacan in Mexico City.[2]

He was recently linked in the press with a move to Football League Championship side Plymouth Argyle. He was also supposedly linked with League One side Leeds United, before being reported that he was n trial with Premier League side Birmingham City.[3] After failing to impress, Costly has remained at his current club GKS Bełchatów for the time being.
