Jerry London (born January 21, 1947) is an American television director and producer.
Biography
Starting work in 1965, London directed a host of classic US sitcoms and dramas - such as Hogan's Heroes, Hawaii Five-O, The Brady Bunch, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Rockford Files and Kojak. He has also directed over forty television movies.
London won best director for James Clavell's Shogun, a twelve hour miniseries for NBC. He has also directed ten other miniseries, including the acclaimed The Scarlet and The Black with Gregory Peck, Ellis Island with Richard Burton, and Chiefs with Charlton Heston.
London is the father of Todd London, a TV producer of HBO's Rome.
NCIS
According to an article in Entertainment Weekly[1], CBS is currently developing an NCIS spin-off series. Filming is scheduled to start in February 2009, with the characters introduced in an NCIS episode this year. The characters listed were: Callen, Clara Macy, Nate Getz, Kensi Lo, Sam Hanna, and Dominic Vaile. Crew members will include Michael B. Kaplan, Lev L. Spiro, Jerry London, Sheldon Epps and Mark Saraceni [1].
LL Cool J & Chris O'Donnell are in final talks to join the "NCIS" spinoff, according to EW's Michael Ausiello, "The 38-year-old O'Donnell would play Callen, a role previously described as 'a human Transformer who can change personas as easily as you or I change clothes.' The 41-year-old LL, meanwhile, is circling the role of Sam Hanna, an ex-Navy SEAL who recently completed stints in both Afghanistan and Iraq."
Louise Lombard, Peter Cambor and Daniela Ruah have been cast as leads in the CBS/CBS Paramount pilot, which will air as an episode of "NCIS" in the spring, just as the pilot for "NCIS" aired as an episode of "JAG." The three would join Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, who are still in negotiations for the other two leads in the spinoff. Lombard will play Clara, a role perceived as the female lead on the ensemble drama. A former major in the military police, Clara is an intelligent, sharp investigator who can look after herself. [2]
