The Thief Lord (ISBN 1-90-343477-7) is a children's book by German author, Cornelia Funke, whose books have been published in many other languages. It is available in English from Chicken House Publishing, Ltd.

Set in Venice, it concerns two brothers, Prosper and Bo, and their adventures with the Thief Lord, Scipio. Made into a film, it has already been shown in cinemas in Germany and Austra, and will be be in UK cinemas in late May 2006. The film was made in English and dubbed into German for German speaking audiences and shot in Venice and Luxembourg. Its cast includes Rollo Weeks, Aaron Johnson, Jasper Harris, Alice Conner, George MacKay, Lathaniel Dyer as the Thief Lord and his gang. Adult costars, Jim Carter, Caroline Goodall and Alexei Sayle play Victor the detective, Ida and Barbarossa respectively. The director is Richard Claus who produced the film The Little Vampire (2000).
