Rollo Weeks

Rollo James Percival Loring Weeks (born March 20, 1987 in Chichester , West Sussex , England ) is a British actor. The somewhat unusual name comes from one of his ancestors, a Viking , and means "famous wolf". His parents are Susan and Robin Weeks. His two older sisters, Honeysuckle Weeks and Perdita Weeks, are also actresses.

Life

Rollo gained fame with the film adaptation of the children's book The Little Vampire by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg in 2000. But at the age of 6 he was in front of the camera for the television series Goggle Eyes . He later attended Young's Theater School in London, where he received professional acting lessons.

Various national and international television films followed such as Attila - The Hun in which he played Attila as a boy, and finally the big and successful film The Girl with the Pearl Earring , released in 2003. This film was the first opportunity for Rollo Weeks, in one starring in international film production, which was later nominated for three Academy Awards and received numerous awards. In it he plays the young Frans, the son of the painter Jan Vermeer .

This was followed in 2004 by George and the Dragon's Egg , in which Rollo Weeks plays Wryn, the young son of a knight. He accompanies George in search of the dragon and tells parts of the film from his perspective.

Rollo's next success was the film adaptation of Cornelia Funke's bestseller The Thief Lord , in which he played the lead role. In it he embodies the 15-year-old Scipio, a master thief from Venice who wants nothing more than to finally be an adult. In the film, he starred with Aaron Johnson , Alice Connor , Jasper Harris , Lathaniel Dyer, George MacKay and Jim Carter .

After a break, Rollo Weeks played Albert O'Hara in the TV game documentary Blood in the Water in 2009 . The Discovery Channel documentary deals with the 1916 shark attacks in New Jersey that became the model for the film Jaws . In addition, Rollo Weeks had a minor role in the film Chéri . In the 2012 film Booked Out , he took on the role of Jacob, who connects the different storylines and actors of the film with one another.

In 2001 Rollo Weeks was a guest on an episode of TV total , where he talked to Stefan Raab about his role in The Little Vampire .
