The view from Fairview High School.

Fairview High School is one of two schools in Boulder, Colorado (along with Boulder High School). Situated above Viele Lake, it resembles a castle, with stone walls and scattered windows resembling arrow-slits. Its interior is very unique: no room in the whole school contains four right angles. Mostly windowless, the rooms are all fragments of hexagons. The entire school sits on a slant, so halls are on levels, with stairs in between. In the center of the school, a student center holds all the lockers of the underclassmen and juniors, with a balcony overlooking it for the seniors. The academic halls branch out on the west side of the student center, and the elective area lies on the east. At the downhill end (North) of the school is the cafeteria. The view from Fairview includes all of Boulder, as well as the foothills and flatirons. On clear days, one can see all the way to Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.

About 2,000 students attend Fairview, putting it in the 5A class for Colorado sports. Fairview is well known for its extensive academic programs, and over-achieving students. Often, the valedictorian will graduate with a weighted GPA of 5.0.
