Sean Yazbeck, 33, is the winner of the fifth season of the reality show The Apprentice. Prior to being a contestant, Yazbeck was the director of business development for a recruitment consultancy. [1] Yazbeck's work experience has included brokering multimillion dollar deals with Fortune 500 companies in more than 20 locations across the globe. He currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Early childhood

Yazbeck was born and raised in London, England. His mother is Irish and his father is Lebanese. Yazbeck's secondary education was at the William Ellis School, a comprehensive school for boys in Camden Town. Yazbeck credits the diversity of cultures and peoples in Camden with giving him the experiences to deal so successfully with all kinds of people, as seen in his Apprentice performance.[2]

Education

Yazbeck graduated from Southampton Solent University, formerly Southampton Institute, with first class honor. In the Apprentice finale, Yazbeck claimed to have been valedictorian, an honour that does not exist in British Universities. However, this was intended to communicate the fact that he was the top-ranked student in his class upon graduation, which is roughly the equivalent of the American valedictorian. [2] He also said that he attended Southampton University, an abbreviation of his school name, which some have confused with the University of Southampton, a much older and distinquished university.

Interests

Yazbeck enjoys traveling around South Beach on his own Vespa. He also enjoys hosting dinner parties for his friends and family.[3] He is a great fan of the Arsenal F.C., a London soccer team. He credits The Arsenal with his ability to keep going despite all odds, to never give up- and that gives him the ability to turn things around, as seen in his final Apprentice board room appearance.

Apprentice Season 5

In Week 1 (Sam’s Club) Sean’s salesmanship amazed his teammates. This was an important component to the win, as the opposing team lost by just 3 memberships.

Sean was often seen out late at night before a task, handing out flyers with his teammates and encouraging people to come to the event. This strategy played a major role in the win Week 10’s Hair Cuttery event, where a major factor in the win was the attendance of Synergy’s event as compared to that of the opposing team.

One of Lee’s wins as project manager, Week 13’s Embassy Suites task, can definitely be attributed to Sean’s fashion sense. One of the judges, Ivanka Trump, a former fashion model, stated that she learned things about fashion from Sean.

For winning a task on The Apprentice (see below), he appeared in a cameo role in the film Over the Hedge as BBQ Barry.

In the final winning task, Sean was chosen to oversee the Bare Naked Ladies concert, sponsored by Pontiac, to benefit the World Wildlife fund. The judges felt that his choice of teammates and amount of pre-planning was impressive. Sean was even able to meet Donald Trump’s helicopter, a feat that is seldom accomplished due to the overwhelming nature of these final tasks.

According to Donald Trump at the live finale, Sean won overwhelmingly in the audience opinion poll, the first ever conducted for an Apprentice finale.

As the first non-American to be hired on National Television, Sean chose to oversee Trump International Hotel and Tower (SoHo) as Mr. Trump's fifth Apprentice, with a starting contract time of one year and a starting yearly salary exceeding $250,000. His reward for being hired was to commandeer a Pontiac G6 Hardtop Convertible, mirroring Kendra Todd's coronation reward (though Kendra's was a Pontiac Solstice).
