Template:GBmap Dobcross is one of the smallest and prettiest villages in Saddleworth, in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham at the north eastern outskirts of Greater Manchester, England. The River Tame runs through Dobcross. It has three pubs (2004) and two churches.

It is famous for being the birthplace of the Platt Brothers- tycoons of the Lancashire cotton industry. It was also the location of the 1979 film 'Yanks' starring Richard Gere, and is home to the successful Dobcross Youth Band and Silver Band. There is a strong affiliation with Yorkshire, although the village is currently part of the Oldham Local Authority.
