Tadhg Beirne (born 8 January 1992) is a Irish rugby union player, currently playing with Welsh Pro12 side Scarlets.

Career

Leinster

Beirne graduated through the Leinster academy. He made his debut from the bench against the Cardiff Blues [1] on the 12th of September 2015. Beirne went on to make a further 3 appearances for Leinster, playing twice against Newport Gwent Dragons and once against the Scarlets, the team he would later go on to play for. All of these appearances came off the bench. Beirne spent most of his career at Leinster playing for their A team, and he earned 10 caps for them, and also played 9 games in the British and Irish cup for them[2].

Scarlets

It was announced on the 28th of June 2016 that Beirne had moved to the Scarlets after being released by Leinster[3]. Beirne made his Scarlets debut off the bench in the opening game of the season, a loss against Munster Rugby[4].

International Career

Beirne made 9 appearances for the Ireland U20 side, and was part of the Ireland side who finished 6th in the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship.[5]. Beirne also played for the now defunct Ireland 7s team.
