Template:Anglican PortalThe Right Reverend Arthur William Thomson Perowne was an eminent Anglican Bishop in the first half of the 20th Century[1]. He was born into a distinguished ecclesiastical family[2] on 13 June 1867 and educated at Haileybury and King's College, Cambridge [3]. Ordained in 1894 he began his ministry as a curate at Hartlebury [4] after which he was Vicar of St Philip and St James Worcester, Rural Dean of Edgbaston[5],Prebendary of Exeter and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Plymouth. Initially the first Bishop of Bradford, he was translated to Worcester in 1931[6]. A keen fisherman[7], in retirement he lived at Gloucester and died on 9 April 1948.
