David Loughery is an American screenwriter and producer.[1].

Born in Chicago, he attended Ball State University and the University of Iowa where he was a member of the Iowa Playwrights Workshop.

Loughery has often worked with director Joseph Ruben. Their collaborations include Dreamscape , The Stepfather, The Good Son and Penthouse North.

Five of Loughery's films (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Passenger 57, The Three Musketeers, Lakeview Terrace, and Obsessed) have opened Number One at the box office. His most recent film is the sleeper hit The Intruder.
