Shanghai Daily (Chinese:上海日报; Pinyin: Shànghǎi Rìbào) is one of two main English-language newspapers in China (the other being China Daily), started in October 1999, owned by Wenhui-xinmin United Press Group. Its primary audience is visiting foreigners, mainly overseas investors and tourists, though many Chinese students read it to improve their English.

The paper reports the economic, social, cultural and diplomatic development in Shanghai and the surrounding region. It used to give its readers a positive impression of the government's policies, economy, and culture in the region. Now that much government control has been loosened, it is now mainly a business-focused newspaper with more accurate and unbiased news.
