Ken McKenzie (Born - August 19, 1923 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Died - April 9, 2003)[1] was a journalist, and the co-founder and longtime president and publisher of The Hockey News magazine.[2] McKenzie was honored in 1997, as a recipient of the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award, gaining automatic entrance into the inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.[3]
“Honoured Member” of the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame.
McKenzie is honored by three different ice hockey leagues, each with trophies bearing his name.
- Ken McKenzie Award – American Hockey League
- Ken McKenzie Trophy – Central Hockey League (1963-84) & current Central Hockey League.
- Ken McKenzie Trophy (IHL) – International Hockey League (1945-2001)
