The PDPC is a 501(c)(3) public charity[1] organization which runs the freenode IRC network, where many prominent open source projects operate an IRC chat service, including Ubuntu, KDE, Wikimedia, GNU and unofficially MySQL. The PDPC is incorporated in the state of Texas, United States; and is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization.
