Rob Levin
Rob (ert) Levin ( December 16, 1955 - September 16, 2006 in Houston , Texas ), also known by his nickname lilo , was the President and Executive Director of the Peer-Directed Projects Center (PDPC, non-profit organization) and on January 29, 1994, together with Pauline Middelink, founded the IRC network freenode , which in the following years has developed into the leading IRC network in the open source scene.
On September 12, 2006, he had a traffic accident in which he collided with a motor vehicle as a cyclist. He suffered severe head injuries. After four days in a coma, he died on the morning of September 16, 2006 in Houston, Texas hospital.
Levin was married and had a son.
In March 2013 the PDPC was dissolved.
