La Prensa Grafica or just called La Prensa is a daily newspaper published in El Salvador by David Escobar Galindo. It is owned by Grupo Dutriz. Is one of the largest metropolitan newspaper in El Salvador
History
In May 10, 1915 the first copy was published with the name La Prensa and the only editors where Drutiz Hermanos (Dutriz Brothers) this copy had 4 standart size pages. Wich talked about "Una de las manifestaciones más espléndidas del progreso cultural de los pueblos la constituye el grado de perfección, llamado con justicia el cuarto poder del Estado, o sea la prensa, que encarna el alma compleja y batalladora de las colectividades civilizadas y conscientes" (One of the greatest manifestions of the cultural progress of the towns...) This copy also says that they will work daily to try to have peace and bring info to every salvadoran.
The first director of La Prensa was Jose Dutriz who directed from 1915 to 1934 beacuse he give his role to his sons Jose y Roberto Dutriz
Then on August 10, 1939 La Prensa fusioned with other Newspaper that few months ago was created name El Grafico and became known as La Prensa Grafica, La Prensa Grafica became one of the first newspaper to have color in the newspaper in Central America.
Now on days
La Prensa Gafica its price is USD$0.50 and is one of the two biggest newspapers in El Salvador the other one is El Diario de Hoy. The Newspaper is using the Goodnews system of publishing.
