WinCo Foods is an employee-owned supermarket business originally founded in Idaho by Ralph Ward and Bud Williams under the name Waremart. WinCo ran stores under the names Waremart Food Centers and Cub Foods before changing its name to WinCo Foods (short for Winning Company) in 1999. Bill Long has served as president of WinCo foods since 1978. As of 2005 WinCo has over 52 stores in the states of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California and Oregon, the first letters of which form the name "WinCo".
